  • 35 percent of libraries in the sample have photocopy machines that are operated by using a prepaid card
  • Libraries in the sample have earned a mean of $9,169 in total revenues from photocopying in the past year
  • 92.59 percent of libraries in the sample provide patrons with self-service photocopying.
  • Servicing agreements for photocopiers cost libraries in the sample a mean of $5,528 annually, or approximately $273 per full-time equivalent library employee
  • Among libraries in the sample, the average charge to patrons for self-service black-and-white photocopies is $0.12 per page
  • 34.78 percent of academic libraries in the sample expect the number of photocopiers in the library to fall over the next five years
  • Libraries in the sample report that it can take service providers up to 48 hours to respond to alls froa  photocopier repair, although on average it takes about 18 hours
