Print:$179.00
PDF:$179.00
Multi-SiteLicense:$259.00

The study is based on a representative sample of 256 lawyers at 104 law firms in the United States with more than 25 lawyers. Approximately 60% of the survey articipants are from firms with more than 100 lawyers. The 100-page report presents extensive data on the extent and types of uses of tablet computers at large and medium-sized American law firms. The study helps its readers to answer questions such as: what percentage of lawyers are supplied with a table computer by their law firms? How are tablets being used? Do lawyers believe that tablets help them to increase billable hours? If so, how? What are their favorite apps? How much legal research is being done with tablets? The report also includes some data on uses of other mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones, to which the uses of tablets are compared and analyzed.

Just a few of the report’s many findings are that:

  • 18% of lawyers sampled were dissatisfied or highly dissatisfied with the access to the firm’s website that they had from their tablets.
  • About 34% of survey participants used some form of detachable or auxiliary keyboard with their tablet.  Younger lawyers were the most likely to do so as more than 47% of them used a detachable or auxiliary keyboard with their tablet.
  • 51.65% of men sampled used a firm-supplied smartphone.
  • Associates were about twice as likely as partners to use Google Drive 34.72% to 17.77%.
